This photo was evidently meant to convey an impression of corporate solidarity and continuity, but city directory listings contradict this. Some drivers stayed with Diamond for years, but others were short term employees who saw cab driving as a stopgap until something better came along. In other words Diamond was typical of what the cab industry has always been. The only thing that set the Diamond staff apart was the misfortune of having a murderer among them.
