George Moore came to Winnipeg from Ireland in 1912. He established Moore's Taxi in 1920 and dominated the Winnipeg taxi industry until his retirement in 1948.

Morris Neaman and Edward Rice later operated Moores, Yellow and Grosvenor taxi as separate entities until they sold the companies to their drivers starting in 1971. At this early stage Unicity was still using the old company names and numbers.
